My proudest achievement.. . I decided 5 years ago My proudest achievement..
.
I decided 5 years ago that I wanted to purse a different path, whilst helping find supports and services,  Social work wasn't for me.
.
I knew I wanted to pursue therapy, to work with people in helping them change.  Transform their thoughts and their world view.  Unpack what makes them unique and then re-pack it again.
.
So I invested a ton of money and time into upskilling my therapy skills,  working towards a new career.  I've worked for free,  weekends,  late nights and Christmas day.  I've worked in private and public mental health and on the way learnt SO much and people and the human condition.
.
At the same time I decided to retrain as a PT and start my own business, maybe not one of my finest ideas.. 💁
.
I burnt out and quit counselling all together TWICE but somehow it called me back.
.
I'm so incredibly lucky to have one foot in the coaching and fitness world and one foot in the land of therapy.
.
If you are wondering what it's all about,  clinical registration requirements are:
👉3360 hours working
directly with mental health clients
👉evidence I have the skills to apply clinical mental health interventions
👉invested hours and $ in yearly CPD to continue my learning
.
I am now a clinical mental health social worker and I will run my own online private practice, and I am able to offer medicare rebated sessions.

I will be happiest when I supporting clients with Eating disorders, Disordered Eating and Body image concerns.

Does my client have an disordered eating? As we c Does my client have an disordered eating?  As we coaches we have no idea what to look for or what questions to ask. 
We might be working with a client for a while and something feels off or it might be a brand new one that raises red flags 
.
To understand what's going on we need to ask better questions to be able to refer out. 
.
👉Have you felt like you wanted to change your behaviours but are fearful what might happen if you do?
👉is your social life and relationships negatively impacted by these behaviours?
👉Do you spend all day thinking about food or exercise? 
👉Do you feel shame about your eating behaviours?
.
unfortunately in the fitness industry these things are glamorized and normalised to the detriment of people's health. 
BUT

I took some "annual leave" from my business to re-think, review and focus.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It made me realise that not only do I truly LOVE this work, but I would be doing a disservice by not continuing.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are so many women who struggle with: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❤ what they see in the mirror⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❤feeling guilty around food⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❤stuck in a vicious cycle exercising only to burn calories⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❤always comparing themselves ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❤believe that the best way forward is to pile shame and guilt on the feelings of not good enough⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This has to change. I am not ok with women whose lives are trapped in a world of dieting with no room to grow, take care of their health and bodies and become the best version of themselves.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
